When it comes to Mac Management, Microsoft Intune continues to mature as an MDM for macOS with notable feature improvements over the last couple of years. However, there are still some challenges present in the platform with getting all the apps you need deployed to newly enrolled Macs in a timely fashion. In addition, it can be a time consuming headache to keep those managed apps up to date, or to ensure they stay installed if a user uninstalls them.

Using an earlier build of Alectrona Patch Desktop, follow along in the video below as we build out a basic configuration for Alectrona Patch, adding a handful of apps that we want to manage and install on all deployed Macs. Within a few minutes of arriving at the end user’s desktop, Alectrona Patch is installed along with its’ configuration profile, and Patch has worked its way through the list of designated apps and installed them. Going forward, those same apps will be kept up to date and even seamlessly re-installed if they’re ever removed.
