Patch Extend is in Beta

Patch Extend is currently in beta and available for testing. We're actively refining the feature and building out comprehensive documentation. We recommend evaluating it in a test environment before deploying to production, and we welcome your feedback as we continue to improve!

Patch Extend is a new capability that lets you layer your own self‑hosted software feeds on top of the built‑in Alectrona Patch catalog. With Patch Extend you can:

• Bring internal or line-of-business apps into the same Patch workflows as your third-party titles.
• Manage updates for custom software that isn’t publicly available from vendors.
• Point Patch at private download locations (internal package repositories, secure file shares, or object storage) for software installation files.
• Keep sensitive or proprietary software fully under your control while still benefiting from Patch's robust automation and deferral logic.
• Secure access to your internal software by configuring authentication methods for private download locations.
• Ensure feed integrity by signing your custom feeds and validating them within Patch.

For organizations, Patch Extend turns the Patch catalog into an extensible platform: you keep a single, consistent update experience for users while gaining the flexibility to meet your own security, compliance, and change‑management requirements.
